Anyone work on washers? I've got a Maytag LAT7304 that has decided to keep filling when it's time to rinse. Runs water out the top of the drum the whole time it's trying to rinse. Works fine until it hits rinse, and spins out fine at the end. Any thoughts before I have to tear it apart? Thanks:)

Sounds like a drain solenoid isn't workin right. Could be a broken wire, bad relay, bad coil, or mechanical blockage.

Washers suck to get apart. Best of luck.

Like Mule said, I had one that the only problem was a blocked drain line. Did the same thing.

I'm 99% sure it's not a drain issue as it works at the times when the water is supposed to leave, it just thinks it should have more than it's capable of holding.

My new washer quit the other day....filled the tub and wouldnt drain....but issued a code and shut down...so water didnt come out of the lid. Guy came and ripped into it because its new and its new right....pulled the pump apart and there was a 1/16 inch drillbit stalling the pump out....hmmmm wonder where that came from?? My jeans after workin in the garage on the sled....well I got an ear full let me tell ya:) put it back together and a way it went:D

look into the problem being either in the timer or the presure switch. If this is an older machine the presure switch has a hose that goes to the wash drum and that can clog and presure will not build at the switch and the washer will continue to fill until the switch is closed or opened. Or the timer may be out of wack if it is a mechanical timer would very well be the problem. one of these two I would bet.
