Warranty on a Used Sled?

How does or will warranty work on a used snowmobile?

I bought a 2008 FX Nytro in April? And have the common cracked tank (which I fixed with JB weld). And also a bunk handwarmer (as I mentioned in another thread).

How would I go about warranty work? I'd feel odd to just walk into a random Yamaha dealer and ask what they can do (since it wasn't purchased from them)...but if thats what has to be done...


Thanks for any info if others have dealt with it.

Note: I purchased the sled from the SLC, Utah area, and it now lives in Denver, CO...so going to the original dealer isn't really viable.

go ahead and talk to your local dealer, and some others close by. some are good, others well..? explain the situation and get their feedback. not sure if warranty is transferable, but if its a recall issue, they would have to take care of it. i am kinda spoiled having used the same dealer for 30+ years so we dont even have an issue if i bring a used sled for warranty. at the very least, you may have to buy some oem parts in the future so your time is not totally wasted getting to know them.

any yamaha dealer can deal with it... if they want to..haha... A turboed sled might scare some of the dealers around here. If there is only $20 of warranty work to be made then they may decide to not have the headache.
