Warm Lake to Stanley

Just wondering what the ride is like from Warm Lake to Stanley, I have heard it is 90 miles one way and there is some spots that have high avalanche danger at times. Is it a trip worth doing?

Great trip....put it on your list for the winter.

Just be smart about the conditions and you will be fine.

:yo:

It is a fun trip... I usually go from Lowman to Stanley, about 80 miles. Once you get into Bear Valley you can get off trail and follow the valley all the way around to the other side. You only have to get on the trail once in a while through Bear Valley and the last 5 miles out of the valley crossing hwy 21. Once you get close to Stanley you need to ride the trail through all the private land. Make sure you pack extra fuel and there is a Ranger Station in the valley if you have issues and need shelter. Typically there is a small window from mid Jan - first of March where the snow is good for the entire trip.

Is there sort of a map for this?

I lived in Bellevue one season and rode Baker and Smiley Creek a lot (also got down to Fairfield a few times).

I never rode at Stanley because I had to go past Baker and Smiley to get there....but I wanted to ride it that year.
