Wanting to move, for some good snow.

I am wanting to get out of this nasty economy over here in Michigan. I am getting out of school this fall, I am only 19, a diesel technician with a associates degree in business. If you know about Univeristy of Northwestern Ohio in Lima thats where I am graduating from. Just wanting to know about the riding in Colorado and if there are any good jobs out there. Thanks TheChapper

The economy isn't doing too well in Colorado either, but last season was epic with well over 500 inches of snow in some PRIME riding areas of the state. I live in NW Colorado and the economy is tanking hard and the cost of living is high. I am being forced to choose hobbies with snowmobiling being the clear winner so I am gonna have to sell the dirt toys:mad:! It sucks! Just think things out before you make a decision or a commitment!

ohio

compared to Ohio the economy here is doing great, you'll have no problem working as a diesel tech, I'm from Youngstown, ridin here is incredible, but your definately gonna want a long track mountain sled.

I live on the front range near Denver. Jobs are easy to find and I'm making more money than ever. Great place to live.

PJ I'll give you $400 for the CR? I need something to go check the mail with.

You don't need a long track unless you've forgotten how to pin it. Sorry Mark the opening was there lol.

What do you do for a living, Duke? My career did the best ever last year but this year is a different story. The housing crunch is killing me! I have no doubt that things will pick up soon, gotta stay positive!

BTW, looking for a little more than $400 for the CR. Chit, the exhaust cost more than that!;)

LMFAO Mark that hurts

Software engineer PJ

Try being a Land Surveyor. It's a tough market right now! Things will pick up, but everything has it's ups and downs! I am sure that a diesel Tech will make some good coin around here, especially at the mines where they need techs to work on heavy equipment.

I hear the Cat dealership in Hayden is always looking for diesel tech's/mech's. Hayden is within an hour of some of the best powder in Colorado ...Buffalo Pass, Rabbit Ears, Californa Park, North Routt/SLO, etc.

But just to warn you, realestate is pretty high compaired to Ohio.

Good luck!

Diesel tech jobs

My friend works for CDOT in Grand Junction, he told me they are short diesel mechanics big time as they all leave DOT for Haliburton and 2x the money.

So, there you have it. Go work for Halliburton, CDOT doesn't pay squat, obviously!

PJ,
You need to come down to Vail or Roaring Fork Valley. We're having a hell of a time finding surveyors. Actually looking to hire a full time surveyor to control all our jobs. Not land surveying, a little more technical, but PM me if you're interested in work. PCL Construction services...check it out!

PM Sent! Looking forward to hearing from you!

BTW, I used to work in the Vail Valley before I came up to Steamboat. I worked for Alpine Engineering for eight years. I live in kremmling, but I am used to the commute, it isn't a big deal to me.

I hear there is a guy in Kremling that has an aftermarket diesel mod shop. I hear he is pretty good rider on his Arctic Cat too.
