wanted 2007 800 r engine

Wanted Anyone know what would be a good alliterative, for my 2007 summit 800R 2900 kms blown motor , besides stock short block from dealer? I am wanting more performance than stock, but with good reliability? with similar cost? i think the short block retails for about 1800.00 can. Were all cranks bad in 07 800R ? Thanks

dude if you can get that for $1800 cdn, go for it...that is before you drop your 800 dollar core which YOU hope you'll get back plus taxes and all the good stuff.....Mine was $2375 cdn +core blablabla....I did get 5500 km on motor first though.

It wasn't the crank, it is the case clearance, it's too tight which put too much stress on the bearings..I'd look for an xp motor, which is probably what the short block would be...call big john at sled head racing, he'll set you up! 612 718 3861

Do as rev_rider say's, give BJ a call he knows these R motor inwards and outwards and everything inbetween too! He will tell you what's what, what's not and what's hot.

X2 for BJ. My 07 800r is there right now getting built from the case up. He does it right!!!
