Hello Everyone.

Unfortunately I've lost a member of my team for this season and am now looking to fill the spot.

The Valemount Area Recreation Development Association is asking for resumes of experienced snowmobile operators who are interested in becoming a member of the Snowhost Team.

The Host Team is resonsible for area maintenance, but more importantly
on-mountain boundary patrol and rider education relating to sustainable and ethical riding, avalanche awareness and our areas Wildlife Sensitivities. We also act as a liason to the snowmobile community and offer to assist where ever needed, from showing newcomers around to helping out in emergency situations.

The postion begins roughly the last week in November and goes through to approx the end of April. The shifts are three days a week, Fri, Sat, Sunday and most holidays.

The ideal applicant is one who has:
-Long history of mountain snowmobiling prefferably in the Valemount Area
-Previous guiding experience an asset
-First Aid
-Avalanche Awareness minimum
-Must own a late model reliable snowmobile
-Must own a 4x4 vehicle in reliable condition
-Refferances are a must. Not necessary from past work, but refferances who can stand up for your character. (we have to watch each others backs out there)

The successful candidate would also be welcome to return next season.

Is this a volunteer position?

Absolutely not, but you wont get rich. The wage is approx 230 a day depending on experience, but the wage includes your expenses.

This is a great job, but finding the right individual is the challange.

Anyone intersted in hearing more about the postion, please call me at the VARDA office at 250-566-4817

I would love to do this since it looks like I'm going to 4 day weeks. But the drive from MN to BC each week would be too much:D

Good luck in your search!!

$230 canadian? That covers wage plus lodging/food, correct?

no, housing is not provided, this is a normal job, but housing is generally easy to find in valemount

I really didnt expect the interest from folks down south, but am getting some great responses.

Thanks you all for your interest

I just Wanted to Thanks You personally for listing SNOWMOBILE EMPLOYMENT on this Forum. I dont know how bad it is in Canada, but in America, it is hard to imagine GM out of Business, and millions without jobs after having so many good years. Your may be offering hope to a fellow rider who may have been at the end of their rope.

thanks

How hard would it be to get the clearance to live and work in BC, from what Ive heard, it is a big deal for us Americans to get clearance from your government to do so.
