Want to buy a rev 800

I am considering buying a rev 800, pre XP. Is there any things to watch out for when buying a used rev? What years are the best, and what track length? Are their any problems with any year rev? Thanks.

I am selling a 2007 800r Adrenaline 151 for 6995 or OBO. This sled is by far the best 07 skidoo made. This sled had none of the clutching problems of the X or XRS had. It is essentialy an 06 X with the 800R engine.
This sled has been Great all of my friends that purchased the x or xrs packages were very frustrated with their sleds while this "little Mule" The sleds nick name. Just kept going and going. The only thing we have done to this sled is a prefiltier over the air intake fome, along with a SLP Can. The sled has only 830 Miles on it and is very clean. It is the Gray and White. I will be posting pictures soon. Fill free to ask any questions. Please remember the difference between this model and the X is the disc break and the secondary clutch. This sled did not have any problems with the its clutching. Oh and it has a skidoo skid plate, gas caddy, and tunnel bag

I have an 05 Summit 800 151..
It has been a great sled....

I am selling it let me know if you are interested... Many extras sled is in perfect shape...

why would you want a pre-XP rev? You can get an 08 XP for what a lot of these guys want for thier Revs. What do you think they will go buy as soon as you buy thier old iron? An XP.

Tell me you're joking ??? All '07 800 Summits have the same primary and secondary clutches ... different clutching determined by track length and tuning preferences  TRA VII primary/ HPV Roller secondary. Brake system is the same on all 3 models as well

Sorry mr. rocky mountian. The clutch is not different but the springs they used are. And if you look at the ski doo web page you can find the break is different on the x's and xr's

springs may be different from sled to sled depending on how they were setup but the clutches are identical! shipped identical from the factory!

you're fooling yourself if you think that the brake is all that is different:rolleyes: (yes they have a lightweight rotor and steel braided brake line) and that is different, but.........

did you forget about the handle bars/controls, lightweight hood, lightweight sway bar, Clicker take apart shocks with titanium springs, clear gas tank, riser block, lighter weight track, and a much better all around ride quality!

About $1500 in parts difference is all!!!

I have ridden all three side by side and own the XRS..... the ride is much better on the X/XRS due to the upgraded suspension parts.....that's a fact!

As for the break it is different and that is what i was stating. the light weight challenger track sucked.. Which is why it became an option to trade tracks and go with the powder max track. The riser block is the same. and the Shocks were the same as the 06 Summit X. But you wouldn't know that unless may be you owned both. And the Springs in the clutch was different. They did come from the factory that way at least that is what the dealerships around me told me. I purchased two for different shops and I confirmed that i didn't want the X springs. I don't want to argue with you and yes I should have stated the clutch portion differently. But it sounds like you don't know any more than me.... Oh And I understood it that the titanium springs were an add on on any of the sleds. I know on my x i had to pay extra for them for year 06 and 08.
Oh and where do you ride(i am not trying to be a jerk or argue) but where we ride the X and XRs struggled greatly because of the different spring set up. Did you notice that or was it different due to elevation. I ride at about 8-11,000 feet.

these sleds are not fictional.... the included parts for each model did not vary.... the adrenalin, X, and XRS have different parts all the way around

if in fact you have an 07 adrenalin summit 151, then I can assure you it had the same clutch springs in it that the factory shipped in my 07 XRS.....NO MATTER WHAT THE RETARDS AT REXBURG MOTORSPORTS TELL YOU!!!! They wouldn't know a clutch spring from a pile of horse chit......

I can also assure you that your shocks differ from the 06X, the 07X and the XRS ( unless you changed them)

The adrenaline sleds come with the HPG shock.... the x models come with the HPG T/A aluminum shocks, and the XRS models come with the aluminum T/A clicker w/ titanium springs.... not a big deal on paper but when you ride them, it is a huge difference

as for the track...... If you don't know how to set your suspension, then yes, it would suck....

I ride SE idaho as well, and have had no problems with the track on my xrs.... I have been outclimbed by as many as I have outclimbed.

i ride an 07 XRS 159 that is very close to stock (cutler can, ceramic coated stock pipe and stage II clutching setup) and have never had a problem with it. i have also had a lot of fun on it. probably one of the funnest machines i have owned-just pull the rope and go. and i mean go. it won't win any drag races (who wants to ride flat sh!t anyway) but it will get to the top ahead of most XP's. i usually ride with a group of guys that ride M1's (piped, boss seats, lightweigt hoods, etc.), 08 XP's (piped, heads, clutch work) and some D8's (same mods as mine) and they never have to wait for me. and by the end of the day, they are tired and worn out from their sleds while i am ready to pound beers and keep going. absolutley nothing wrong with their sleds and the way they are set up but i prefer mine. maybe a new XP next year.....

Hey some thing we agree on RMS does suck note the reason for purchasing from two differnet stores...
Do you have the Challenger track or the Mountain light?
As for the Shocks I know what you are saying but it was a late season change on the Adreniline that is why we went with the that sled vs. the X. I know the X is usually 1,500 better i agree with that . If you look closley at 07's from the x to the adreniline the break set up and from what you said about the shocks. I promise the shocks were the same as the 06x were. oh and the gas tank like you pointed out earlier.

Wells,
the 07 800R engine is the way to go it is worth the little extra you will pay. I have had both the 800R and 800HO. The 800R stock out did my 800HO which had the SLP package. Hope fully this helps you make your decision. Oh and don't get a sled from RMS, I think every one will agree with that.

jamesontf-i will certainly agree with you about not purchasing from RMS. i have not had a particulary good experience with them either. i snow checked two new XRS from RMS at the same time (one for me and one for my father) and neither one were set up correctly. reverse didn't work on mine and my father's was missing a shock bolt. i used to be a service manager for toyota for a number of years and i understand how easily mistakes happen but their reaction to my discovery of the problem is what upset me. no offers to fix it while i was there, no apologies after driving 85 miles to pick them both up and no "fix it right the first time". as the old saying goes: businesses dont lose customers over problems-they lose customers over how they deal with the problems. anyways, i have been taking my machine to island park adventures and they are absolutely great. Ken, the owner/service manager/receptionist/mechanic is one of the best out there. i could go on for days but if you're in the area, stop in and see for yourself. to sum it all up, it wouldn't feel fair to bad mouth RMS without them being able to defend themselves but i probably won't return just because i found another dealer that goes above and beyond what is expected-premium service at a discount price.

We are selling a 06 rev 800 151, blue with 2300 miles. Includes electric start, silencer, brp gas can, cover, spare belt and plugs, 2 inch riser. Clean sled always had an under cover sence day one.
