Want a M1000

I would like to know if the M1000 is a good sled to buy? I am thinking of buying one and would like to here some things from those who have them.

Find a well set up used one with under 1000 miles for around 5-6k. Let someone else spend their money modding it. They rock, best value in sledding today if you ask me.

i enjoy ridin mine has plenty of power. Add sno-pro air box, and SLP pipe kit and its a whole new machine and i hate to have to sell it.

thats what i did and also added the powercommander 3 . the sled is fearless and rocks. slp has it dyno'd at 192 hp with 133 pounds of torque .... thats a 16 pounds weight saving with slp ypipe, pipe, can, and air intake box . also slp high altitude clutching .. than u can subtract 3% per 1000 ft of altitude . ie. 10000 ft up = 30% from 192 hp =around 140 hp and that up in the mountains is a lot of fun..with the weight savings i gained 22 hp from the slp kit..

I've owned 3 1000's & a couple M8's, I can't imagine going back to an M8 again unless it had a turbo. The 1000 is easy to pull weight from and even N/A they can be turned into monsters.

i've owned both an 07 and 09 m1000-162"

they are a great sled, the 09 is a huge improvemnet from the 07 about 30 lbs lighter and i love the power claw, and updated tunnel-bumper mod, there is also alot you can do to increase the power output, for instance slp setup. would highly recommend m1000

The problem with the M1000 is once you've had one that is set up properly and works awesome, you can't upgrade unless you turbo it. I've got the itch to get a new sled for next year, but based on the current crop of 2011 sleds, there is nothing to upgrade too. Looks like I'll be looking for a holdover '09 M8 and going with a turbo. Now I need to save my pennies this summer!

Great thread as I am also looking at picking up an M1000. One input i would like to hear is going with the 162 or 153? Which do you guys prefer? Is the difference only about 2 lugs on the ground? I have heard guys go either way just looking for input only 200 dollar difference from the 162 to the 153.

Thanks again

i love my 1000, i was considering trading it for a new m8, but then i came to my sences and realized how awesome the 1000 really is. Great power in a chassis that can't be beat... Long live the M1k!

As far as the 153 vs 162 my vote is for the 153, but i REALLY want to a 141 PC to stick on it and try that. I think i would like the 141 even better, but just haven't had the funds to do that yet.

Mine was a 153 when I bought it. Now it's a 162 and I'm loving it. That should tell you how I would vote.

The M1000 loves the longer track.

My backup sled is a race gas 8 , my new sled is a bone stock 09 M1000 SP. Next year it will be a race gas M1000 . I will never buy another 8 as long as they sell the M1.

2007 Arctic Cat M1000 153" track 192.8 horsepower and 133.9 ft/lbs of torque. 1500 miles. Lots of extras includes: Polished tunnel reverse. Black Simmons skis w/Orange ski hoops, or Black Slp powder pro skis your choice. Slp complete pipe kit--y-pipe, single pipe and can. This kit dropped 16 lbs. Slp cold air intake. I just put a new slp 3 weight clutch with mtx weights 0 miles. Has a BoonDocker box that is dead on for programming but does allow for easy adjustment if needed. Snow eliminators, 2 1/2" handle bar riser, Left hand gold finger throttle. Knee pads, windshield bag, Tunnel bag, cable type snow scratcher and arctic cat cover. If you are intrested $5200
