Want a bigger avy bag harness

I have the freeride avy bag setup. I have always felt that the harness was too small, when you have some gear on. I'm under 190# 34" gut and with gear on, the bottom strap with the velcro and handle pocket barely get's around my belly. The thin backup strap does OK, but it's full out also. I can't imagine a 230# guy wearing this thing.

I've had it for about four seasons and cuss everytime I put it on. I love how compact it is, but am actually considering trading for a bigger model, with someone who wants to scale down.

Did I get one that was cut too small or are other folks experiencing the same problem.

Is your bag a Freeride large or a Freeride small? I am a similar build to you and I don't have a problem with the waist strap.

I didn't know they came in different sizes. I'll have to look on it to see if I can find any markings.

Including if I remember correctly the small size is only rated for 145 pounds

I went to the abs website where I orginally ordered it. There is no indication of any different sizes in the free ride. It also says that all the two bag systems have the same size bags.

I did notice that they talked about replacing the back pack only, should the pack get damaged. Does any one have an idea what a larger pack for my bag system would cost?

the free ride does have 2 sizes for the harness. that is what i was told when i got my abs 15. 15 30 only come in large.
