Walker Evans Rebuild

How difficult is it to change the seals on W/E that came on a 2008 700 dragon? Is there tools that need to be bought? Any thing that is special? Or is better just to pay to get the seals replaced? Thanks for the help.

Someone on here posted a name and number at WE last year, I called the guy up and he said they recharge them for free but seals would be for a charge. Sent him mine and he charged them up and replaced the seals all for $0. Pretty sure I had to pay shipping both ways but it was well worth that. I also had the local dealer pump them up a little prior to that and they charged me $45.

Ya, mine are in need of some work too.....Just got off the phone with W/E and was quoted $65ish a shock to rebuild and Carls quoted me $90ish a shock after their first recommendation of new shocks was shot down by my small budget. Need to do something.....they leak. :face-icon-small-sad

fabcraft in montana also rebuilds them. Not sure what they charge
I highly recommend Fabcraft. Mike and crew know how to make the WE's work, period. If you want the WE shocks to work right, they will put in the updated piston / washer stack(?) for you. Keeps the front end from diving like it did stock. And doing the same to the rear shocks makes it ride better too. Did that to my wife's 08 700, made a world of difference. I am planning on doing this to the "new" 08 Carl's 860. Did all 4 shock updates on my "old" D800 and my wife can tell the difference between her D7 since we only did one of the rear shocks on hers.

Tell them Mitch send ya. :-)

What did Fabcraft charge?

Fabcraft

Just had Mike at Fabcraft rebuild mine, he did a soft seal kit and the updated piston kit and recharged them to 245 psi and now they seem to work awesome.

Does anyone have a online manual for these Walker Evans air shocks? ive been rebuilding my own shocks on past sleds, just have never done these air shocks.

or have heights that pistons ect get set too?

I think so i just dont remember his screen name for sure give him a call he is easy to work with.

I just sent him off a pair ow WE to repressurize.

He would not work on RYDE FX AIR 2.0 ???

Any thoughts on where to get the RYDE FX AIR 2.0 worked?

Mike and crew do a great job with the WE Airs.

Just yanked the WEs off my wife's sled and going to take them to Fabcraft to get the pressure upp'd, took her sway bar off and the shocks have not been repressurized in a couple years, although not a lot of miles so they should not need rebuild. Already had the update piston kits etc. installe in them by Fabcraft.
