Walker Evan Shocks

I have an 08 D7 with Walker Evan Shocks and like the way they ride but i am tired of spending money refilling them :mad: I am at the point where i am looking for an alternative without comprimising the ride because they won't even hold pressure for the season. If there is anything i could do to keep these shocks i would because i don't want to spend a bunch of money. If any buudy has experienced this problem or has any suggestions please tell.

Fox Float Evol R's here, but they cost $1000. Your dealer should be filling those shocks for you. How often do you need to fill them?

my shocks are doing the same. i took the sway bar out and wanted them pumped up and they bleed off before i could pick the sled up from the dealer, so they pumed them up and one ride later they are down again :mad:

they were fine till i had them pumped up to max pressure

Yep, I had the same exact problem. Switched to Fox Float II's and love them, fully adjustable and no fade. The Evol's are fantastic as well, but a little pricy. I put just under $700 into the Float II's - very happy.

That's BS cost for re-charging! I have the Fabcraft Chambers on the fronts and have no problems with them losing pressure and even if they did they are adjustable so can increase pressure periodically. I know someone on here had posted info on getting the stuff to do-it-yourself but can't locate it, it's been awhile.

yah i have heard that people have put the fabcraft chambers on as a last resort before switching the floats and they have had no more loss in charge and they can make them sledneck stiff to marshmallow soft with the turn of the wrench

Switched mine to Fox Zero Pros. They work great when set-up by Carl's, and are by far the most affordable option while maintaining a high level of quality and performance. :beer;

I rented a small bottle of N2 and bought the charge kit last year (Its just a hypodermic needle in a brass fitting. I already had a regulator to tap the bottle. Have charged once last season and once this year. Charged to 225 PSI. hope it holds. Its not a small job pulling the shocks off, especially the front track shock.

I tried calling Fabcraft today i think i am going to try the chambers first as long as they aren't crazy expensive. It is just hard to swallow when they are supposed to be a decent shock to start with.

I just had all 4 shocks recharged to 225psi and have rode twice and one shock is already sagging , no oil leaking or scared shafts either. i put thread sealant on the allen screw too thinking maybe it could be the rubber puck behind too but that didn't help :mad:

i have only had to have my shocks recharged once, that was after they set around all summer. are the fox's worth the money to upgrade? how about the aftermarket chambers for the Walker Evans?

I have heard that the rubber seal you put the needle through can sometimes leak so I would replace that next time anyone gets a re-charge or if you send them to Fabcraft I imagine they will make sure they are good to go. On the other hand...........I am having problems with my Floats on the rear suspension holding air......WTF?

I picked up the backend of my sled today and couldnt believe the sag it had! It seriously looks like I blew a shock or something. the fronts are starting to sag a little again but nothing like the back is

The stock Poo rear susp. is supposed to has 4" of sag in it. I have 1,800 miles on my WE w/o any issues.

i took the shock up to my buddies shop today and got it recharged. i was down around 100 pounds of pressure, i think that he said it was supposed to have 140? i just put it all back together and greased all the linkage and it seems to be quite a bit better
