Wakepish

Looking at the state web site...

2/24: The Wakepish Sno-Park is CLOSED for the rest of the season due to the replacement of the bridge at Benham creek. The 25 road from this Sno-Park is scheduled to be groomed once per month, with the next scheduled grooming on 2/29/12 from the south end of the Forest Service 25 road depending on snow conditions.

This confusses me. The road is closed so we can't get to the snopark. However, they are going to continue to groom so that the trails are in good shape for all of the people that can't get to them. Is it just me or is this odd??? Is there another way in? Wakepish is one of my favorite places but we haven't gone because the road was scheduled to be closed starting on 2/1.

I don't know the road number, but I think there is another way in. It is listed on the maps.

Yes there is another way in ... no grooming and it can be a long road ride in. We call it Ryan Lake rd but have accessed the area many times this way.

The 25 road most likely will be groomed from the " other side " trout lake or what ever the snow park on the other side is called.
