WA Registration, sno park pass, discovery pass??

Just moved up here this summer and want to get this straight.
I need to register the sleds at the DMV, correct? Pay the ridiculously high use tax crap (bought mine used, no tax recepit), title, registration fees, what ever.
This get's me a sno park pass with each registration for the tow rig, correct?
Discovery pass. Got one of them from boating season already. Do I need to display that as well as the sno park pass when parking at any of the snow parks?
Also, for any poeple who've paid cash for their sleds, no tax. Can one do a "declared value" form when registering the machines or does the DMV assign a value to it. Haven't WA registered my boat yet because they want to hit me up for like $4k to register it (WTF??) and the 2 sleds and the 4wheeler will equal another $1200-1500 to register. That's highway robbery for stuff I already own!
PM me if you have any valuable info about this please!

DOL to register sleds $35.00, you should receive one sno park permit per sled, discover pass "so far" only needed at one or two sno parks in our state,:noidea: why I don't know? Hope this helps.

what parks are they required in

Not sure what park would be required in I heard they are only required on state land not federal land not sure what parks we would need one in any help please. I am talking about the discovery pass.

Guys, if you would google 'discover pass' you would find that you only need the discover pass on state land ie Manashtash or the Tampico area.

You will get a Sno Park permit with your registered sled which you should display while parked in Fed sno parks.

Please remember that our sledding funding is based on our registrations. We receive money from the registration, but more importantly we receive up to $145 in gas tax per registered sled.

Thanks

WA Rip off

Paying to register sleds get a pass, for each one, but this money hungry state is screwing people moving here from out of state. We need all sleds to be registered. but

As he states, he owns his stuff, but without a receipt showing you payed some form of sales tax in your previous state, you will be taxed when you register here.

I owned a sled for years when I moved here and had no current receipt. They said "no receipt, you pay tax" Luckily, I found a receipt that worked, but they will screw you if you move here and can't 'find' a receipt showing you payed tax somewhere.

A hand written bill of sale will work for there "tax value"

Just write one your self and date it for when you bought the sleds... And keep that sale price low to help reduce the sting of that tax hit. I know not exactly on the level but it get's your sleds registered.

On the sleds the hand written BOS is generally all good. On the boat they will want to see some evidence of fair value (blue book or whatever). Sucks, but that is what they do to keep people from buying with no tax in Oregon and coming up here. I moved from Georgia and had to pay the tax on my boat! Was only the difference between what I pd in GA vs. WA (value when entered WA), so it wasn't terrible.

Good to know this info, thanks guys. I too just moved here from the Lake Tahoe area and have little to no knowledge of the WA DOL & DMV systems....sounds like I get to enjoy a day getting to know them!

Sounds like the biggest thing to have for your sleds is proof of paying sales tax in another state...I hope to god that my CA registration shows something to that extent! I'm sure we all save our reciepts from years ago right? :face-icon-small-con

Regardless, thanks for the heads up on this!

Thx for the info. I have no problem with paying for registration, trail permits, etc, but I'll be dipped if I'm going to pay a "use tax" on something, especially if I didn't buy it here.
Guess I should pay 9.3% on everything that showed up in the moving van too??

Quite!!!- GregHore will be adding in-coming moving vans in the next special session.

I get to try to get a tag on my sled this week. I paid very little for it. It was basically in pieces and missing a-arms and needed a complete engine rebuild.

I will be taking in my internet receipts for the parts I bought on-line and the bill of sale from the seller, but it is still quite a bit below the "Market" value of a 2007 600 RMK.

We will see how it goes.

Ha! You think the economy stinks up here....imagine was CA is like! I was facing a layoff and aside from bumping chairs for $12 an hour, jobs are few and far between. Our building department went from 13 FTE to 3 FTE in one year...economy is really falling apart! Aside from that, dads health is is taking a dump so gotta do what ya gotta do. Looking forward to riding in the PNW though!

Sometimes you just get lucky. The 07 600 I bought, honestly was loaded into my trailer via a handtruck and wheelbarrow and the receipt said $200, but....:face-icon-small-win

Well anyways, I got tabs tonight and had to pay $19.00 in sales tax. :face-icon-small-ton
