Has anyone tried running VP Q16 in their sleds? It is an oxygenated race fuel with an octane of 116. I know a lot of guys are running it in drag cars with great results. I was also wondering if it would mix with 2-cycle oil. Thanks

What do you have that requires 116 octane? high boost or high enough compression you cant pull it over by hand.

If you want to try it you will have to add about 7% fuel if you currently run c16. I was at 10.2 a/f with c16 and dumped q16 in with no fuel adjustments and went to 10.7-10.8 a/f in my turbo gsxr 1000.
A buddy has a 1507cc busa with 15.5-1 compression at sacramento (sea level) he tried c16 over c12 and ran a couple mph slower. Way more octane then required will slow you down.

What are you wanting to run it in? Give us details and I or someone else can give you a recomandation of a fuel to run. Or you can look up VP's website and call a tech for a recomendation of a fuel to try.

I have some of the fuel laying around. I have played with it in all out 4-stroke applications with good results, so I know about the jetting changes. I was wanting to mix it 50-50 with some 94 pump gas. The application is an 800 RMK with twin slp pipes, raised port timing, porting, higher compression heads, spraying 40 hp of NOS. Just playing around with some setups for a local hill climb in the east, elevation about 1500. Thanks

Oxygenated fuel is good for 2 stokes also you can call VP fuels.
I have run VP MS 103 in a 2 stroke mod and made more power, but you have to add more fuel because it will run leaner. Watch it with the nitrous though it seems the egt's jump even quicker.

What compression ratio?
I know two strokes are different then four strokes, but I run premium pump in four stroke street bikes with 13.1 compression and 50hp shot of nitrous.
Check out MRX01. I know some guys useing it with good results in big engines without a huge shot of nitrous. 50-75hp. Should work good for you.

Alot of nitrous too me is over 100hp. My supercharged gsxr 1000 has 100hp jets in it right now with a NOS wet kit and schnitz two dial controller. I run q16 in it, but am also runing 9psi with the super charger on top of the 100hp wet kit.
q16 in my turbo gsxr 1000 also. it made 424hp at 24psi boost and is made to run 30psi. Thinking of trying a different fuel, but it is well over $25 a gallon and is hard to get right now. But some one I know made 425hp on q16 and at same boost levels made 475hp on this different fuel. You need to add like 30% more fuel over q16 and I don't know if I have enough injector for that. Just got to see how this year goes and if the extra power will be needed.

I only tried u4 once in a all motor 13.1 compression gsxr 1000. it is advertised as a direct replacement for pump gas. with little or no jetting changes. The bike was maped perfect on the dyno for pump gas. Ran almost 4 mph slower in the 1/4 then pump. A big difference.
I did not have a data logger on that bike so I do not know how the u4 affected the a/f ratio or what the a/f ratio was. Never tried it again.
MR9 works great in stock compression bikes.
Sorry I have not done much testing in snowmobiles. I don't mind spending $16-$30 a gallon for gas I only use a few gallons of a weekend drag racing my street bikes. I leave my snowmobiles pump gas as I ride alot and all my money is spent on my bikes. Making sure I have enough money to pay the bills and gas for the sled this year. I was going to put a big bore in my xp earliear in the year. glad I didn't. Right about now I would have a big bore xp and not enough money to pay the bills. No money to pay for gas in the sled to ride it.
Maybee in a few years I will have a turbo four stroke sled.
