voltage that show's on the dash?

sled runs great but I noticed the meter on the dash that shows the voltage show's two bars is this OK or is something getting weak? thanks

There are 7 bars total, you should have 5-6 at any given time... If you get down to 1 bar the display will begin to flash and the headlights will start to get dim.


Something is definitely not right, you may have a short somewhere also....

low voltage indication on the dash is generally an indication of a bad capacitor.

I see 5-7 bars on all my sleds with handwarmers off and 3-5 with them on.

I always turn the warmers off before starting the sleds and they start easier.

How do you test the capacitor?

from the manual
1. use a 12 V battery and hook up the positive to the red/white wire and the negative to the brown wire. Let the capacitor take a charge for 10 seconds.
2. Using a multimeter check the power that is in the capacitor. The power may slowly go down.

the handwarmers are on after a little while it will go up to 3 bars but no higher, thanks all

Ck capacitor.dash wiring connector for corrosion and moisture? Maybe replace battery while your there (little watch type) hidden by harness.

RMK 900 Charging, How Many Bars is Normal?

Just getting ready to go out for my first ride tomorrow (finally got some snow here in sunny northern Cali) and noticed the charging wasn't all the way up (6 bars) at idle. Couldn't rev it up too high on the trailer but I took it up to about 3000 rpm and it stayed at 6 bars. Runs fine and headlight is nice and bright but I just can't remember how many bars were normal from last season.

My Fusion runs 5-6 bars with the handwarmers on. So I would say that your okay.
