Vmax suspension interchange

I have a 2002 Vmax with the rear shocks that are shot! Yamaha wants 450 for replacements. I dont care anything about factory shocks, but according the aftermarket places, they dont have the shocks for it.


Does anyone know if the Viper shocks will fit on the sled? A buddy of mine has a skid and the viper vs vmax skid looks identical. Why are the part numbers different?



Does anyone know the shocks what will interchange with the 2002 Vmax 600?

shock

any of the v-max, viper or sxr shocks will fit. the best ride from an oem shock is the 97-98 xtc's. the sx and srx shocks are too short. i found a 97 xtc shock for $5 at a swap meet and had it rebuilt.
