Actually, I'm still trying to figure out why we care if Europe gets hit by Nukes from Iran? Shouldn't the mighty EU build it's own dang missile defense system? Funny how Vladimir played Obama like a chump. He's got a lot to learn about the real world, not everyone thinks he's special.

It's much easier to shoot down a nuke shot at us from that region during it's ascent phase. so for the best probability of success our missile defense should be as close as possible to the missile we are trying to shoot down.
