Visiting Lake Tahoe March 20-24 Flat Lander Wants to Ride

I will be in South Lake Tahoe on March 20 -24th. So I am looking to go ride the mountains for a couple of hours been riding for 20+ years but have never been able to ride the mountains. Anyone have suggestions for some good rentals that are more than follow the leader. (I want to have fun) Or if there is anybody out there that would like to give a private tour and has extra equipment I would be game. Thanks in advance for any information.
