Vipec Install

All, I wanted to invite anyone who can make it in the surrounding area (Omaha, NE) to my house tonight to be there while I install the Vipec on my 2013 PRO. The reason I am doing so is because Cody Phillips will be guiding me through the install, configuration and tune for the mods I have now.

· RKT Head (13.5 Domes)
· RKT Pistons
· SLP Pipe/Can
· MDS Weights, Purple/Black Secondary, Green/Black Primary Team Helix

The reason I am doing this now is so I can see the benefit of the Vipec before continuing onto bigger and better HP. I previously had a PCV with SLP Stage 4 mapping, ran spot on over 9,000’ for 178miles. Being from the Midwest and driving 8+hours to ride I don’t take chances on mods that don’t work, to me this is a sure thing. I will be riding in Togwotee next week 16th-19th. Any changes to the mapping, Cody will make there.

There have been many nay sayers about the Vipec and the cost associated with it. I was once detruded by the sticker shock. If you are hesitant to pull the trigger on the Vipec, I can tell you from day 1 before Cody, Josh, & Bryce have been great to work with. They have explained in detail on everything.

So…if you are in the Omaha metro area tonight around 6:30-7 (I know its late notice) you are welcome to come see the install from start to finish. If interested you can text me and ask for my address…712-420-5009

This would be a great opportunity for Q&A for people interested in Vipec.

I am in no way part of Cody Phillips Racing or Turbo Performance, never met the guys or seen their product in person.

Thanks!

Eric

wish i wasn't home sick. only an hour away and been on the fence on this for a while. Talked to Cody a week or so ago about one. Let me know how it goes. Still some snow here to try it out, but you better hurry 50 tomorrow

The overall install wasnt bad, just hesitant on my confidance for taking on the wiring...which is really simple if you listen with your ears not your eyes

When we finally got it installed...first pull and it fired up...literally first pull.

The map we are using isnt designed for my setup, so a custom map will be tuned throughout the process.

I have all the faith in the world that it will come to life once its fine tuned.

A BIG help from Mike..."Friscospice" for helping tonight.

I think it made a believer out of him as well!:jaw:

Needless to say it was really a cool deal to watch and help out with. Cody is right Facetime is the real deal. When we had a question he could look at what we where doing and give a pointer or two. Despite a lack of good tools it really was easy and once everything was hooked up Cody was able to download a map to get Eric a safe place to test for the real tune. This will be the tool to have on every sled with aftermarket HP. Just the few examples Cody showed me last night I am convinced that it is really the best fuel controller out there. No laptop needed if you feel you cant tune. The ViPec can record a steep pull, a mid throttle criuse , a wide open blast down the trail, and a run in the trees to capture all the senerios, then simply get back to the hotel hook up your PC Cody can remotely get on your PC and look at the catured data and tune out any issues. Very impressed with his knowlege of all the possibilities that the ViPec is capable of controlling. Peace

The vipec has to be a fantastic diagnostic tool, with all the glitchy intermittent split second issues I have had on my Polaris, the vipec would have paid for itself in return trips to the dealer, wasted time hand testing sensors guessing at bad parts, the frustration of the dealer shoulder shrug. IMO the data logger in a real time graphing format would be woth it! The fact that it would run spot on would be a bonus. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I shouldn't assume the software can graph data... Make it blue tooth, smart phone ready and I'm in

Agreed, to not be held hostage by the dealer with the Digital Wrench software would be fantastic.............Especially for people who live in remote areas & are capable of performing their own troubleshooting/diagnostics & repair - They could easlily pay for their initial investment if they avoided a handful of trips to their dealer.............

Now on the other hand, if PC based diagnostic software for the existing Polaris system became avialable through the aftermarket at a reasonable price that may reduce the VIPEC's appeal............Maybe someone knows what restrictions are currently in place on Polaris's system & if this would even be a possiblitiy???

There has to be a few "digital wrenches" in the "wrong hands" of good computer guys who can crack/hack the code entry. Problem is Polaris web based info only availible with dealer ID.
Auto industry allows a three day pass for around $50 why not the snowmobile ind.??
Vipec is an awesome alternative!

Wired my live data log switch tonight. Spent a lot of time zip tieing the wires and AFR so everything is nice and neat.

Tomorrow will make some "dry" run on the field to get it dialed in.

Are you going to be data logging to your ECU or you PC ( lap top) ?

The vipec is working awesome. I am a beginner at the whole e.f.i tunning but with the help of Brad and Bryce (turbo performance) it hasn't taken long to learn how to do some of the basic tunning. Changing a/f ratios, logging, 4d fuel mapping (elevation), air intake temperature mapping. There are so many thing you can do to make your sled run to it full potential.

Probably one of the best investments I have made for my sled, I couldn't be happier.
