Well the wonderful VIO-POV1 is being offered to a select group of people for a short time at 30% off savings on all items purchased at the time of the POV including accessories....basically you're talking $210 off a Helmet Cam system.

Wanted to spread the word to my Snowmobile buddies...

I was able to check one out firsthand and it wasn't the greatest quality. Myabe just because it wasn't mounted to the helmet but the sled itself but quality wise I wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Gonna have a lot more time with it this winter though. Hope my primary experience isn't a pre-cursor for this winter. Time will tell. Awesome features though. Very cool.

Yea, still figuring it out.
I thought it took great video. I have mine mounted to the side of my helmet and it seems to take great video. I did notice that with the wide angle lense objects seem to be farther away.
I mounted the remote in the middle of my bars so it is protected by the crossbar, but is easy to get to. The buttons on the remote seem to work great with gloves.
Just be sure to lock the buttons on the main unit so you don't turn it off by accident (over and over again till you figure this little fact out:confused::p)
I would buy it all over again.
That having been said, I have pretty much zero experience with helmet cams or video at all really.
So take the above for what it's worth.

I am going to download the upgrade for the 8g cards.

I,ve had time on the old pov lense and the new wife angle they had improved with the new lense and have read a few things about a new power pack coming out in jan that works off a cig lighter or can be recharged but they might be two seperate items!

I've got an older analog unit as a personal but have always liked the company they made good stuff and stand behind it all

This is the same helmet cam they used in Slednecks 11 and the quality is anything but bad on that video.

watching the comparison between the 70* and 110* lens there are some things i actually like about the 70*...and that is the objects appear in a more natural look. but the 110* does show a lot more of the shot.

I'm not sure if VIO would still have the narrow angle lenses however I've delt with Clint in the past at VIO and he's usually helpful...
