Good question....no exact numbers but well in excess of 500 tons of upforce.

So when did they actually break the wing?? Was it just recently?

Ive' been on the tour twice this year and the second time through the very first 787 was more torn apart than the first!

I heard the the first 4 or 5 planes will never fly??

An amazing aircraft if/when they get it done!

Last Saturday, this is just a wing...not a complete plane. Has been running 24/7 for almost 2 years of fatigue testing before the final destruct.

aweosme , you int test engieneering ? that's my line of work an di 'd love t goet into areospace. Incredible things and lot sof $$ there.

cool video, must be an interesting place to work. did the tour back in '98, they were building the triple 7's then. was sent on a tour by Kenworth to their proving grounds and then to the factory in Renton to watch our newest truck roll off the line, they threw in a Boeing tour as a bonus. Amazing building...."If it's not Boeing, I'm not going..." lol

Should be easy calculation. What's the weight of the airplane, the maximum positive G's, divide by 2, and multiple by 1.5.

I like the software to hardware interface of such stuff, but I'd go crazy trying to do that kind of stuff in a union shop. We used to do some Mil shock and vibration testing. Always cool to see metal wave at 150G's.
