video from the dyer mnt trip yesterday...

It was scary knowing that we wouldn't be rescued if we got stuck... Just made us be extra careful. It would be really nice if we had two cats for times like this... Dyer mnt is by Lake Almanor...

I don't think a snowmobile would have made it, tons of powder and the road was so drifted you wouldn't have been able to follow it... We couldn't even walk in the snow it was so deep.

Here are some pictures...

Jim:

Great vids! Back in the mid-80's, we used to have a cabin on the Ham Branch just below the bridge. Would blast up the road to Dyer on the old IT465 Yammie many times, but never saw anything like this.

Thanks so much.

thats not good, when and where was this on I5, I know some people were headed down to help pge from oregon...

Its got two bucket seats in the front and a rear bench seat... We only go when things are broken so hopefully not anytime soon...

Just north of willows. I did see another southbound cat on a flatbed or trialer or flatbed (cant remember exactly). the one that was rolled over was light blue. It looked older, but who knows, it was thrashed pretty bad. looked like a tucker.
the highway was closed (both directions) for quite a while. Maybe they had a crane in there to pull it out. We drove by at the tail end of the operation.
we will have to connect again one of these days.
I am up with the family til mon pm.
