Vertical steering

Wht are some of the pros and cons of the vertical steering kit. Been thinking about doing the change.

Hmm... I don't think there are any cons at all. Makes it ride like a normal cat.

For guys that were not previously on sleds that had vertical steering it wasn't the end of the world last year. I just wanted the post moved farther forward so I did a c3 3" spacer. I guess I'll be riding the vert post this year on the 2013 either way.
What ever you decide you know where to find me Charlie99. I ordered a half dozen in the summer and have a couple left. Last I looked cat didn't have an eta, maybe that's changed.

If you don't have it .....get it.

I agree. I came from a ski doo with the hor steering. And I didn't mind the hor steering on the cat. But I LOVE the vertical steering. LOVE LOVE LOVE. It is a must have if your going to ride this sled in the mountains. PERIOD. . . .

The only downside,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, only, is if you are running trails and like to sit down, the horizontal steering is much more comfortable.......

(Yea I get it, blah, blah, blah,,,,,,,,, "these are mountain sleds, who sits down")

I agree, but it is worth pointing out......

That is true on any vertical steer sled though......

Does anyone know how much I can raise my bars. The vertical kit comes with a two inch riser but I could for sure use one inch more and also I can't find any risers from cat besides going with a 4.5 inch. I don't think the brake and throttle cable will stretch that far plus to tall for me

Thats true. I likely will put the hor post back on to ride in MN if we get snow to ride trails and ditch bang. But the vertical is a MUST for mountain riding.

That's alot of work just to ditch bang! I have buddies that live in Okoboji and go up there quite abit to ride around and the vert steering isn't too bad but not as comfortable as horizontal would be. Just too much work to switch back and forth.

Can anybody help with this. I tried the stock 5.5 with the vert and the cables won't reach. Will the 4.5 work. I think that would be perfect for me.

Coming off a T-Apex then a T-Nytro I didn't mind the stock post at all. It was really natural to me. I've never been on a 1100 with the vert post but have rode a vert post 800 and it felt really awkward. All in what you get used to I guess.

I put a 4.5 on last night with the vert steering. Works fine. I would say that would be the max for a riser.

I put the 4.5 riser on and it works but that brake line is at the max. I'm thinking about rerouteing it up top, it's that tight. Worried about the long term. Is everybody else's that tight?

Do you have it running under the vert steering brace or over it. I had mine running over at first and it was very tight. Lot looser when running threw it.
