Venting?

How many vents are you guys running, if any?
I can only imagine the more the marrier? Colder the under hood temps = better and more efficient performance...

Ordered the 163 in orange today so I'm ready for some feed back on the venting. This is one thing I will be spending some money on. I was thinking those 2cool vents look pretty good any feed back on those vents for the pro.

I'm running 6 additional (3 per side). In hind sight I'm not sure if they did what I wanted them too. I know it opened the sled up and on deep pow days when the hood vents plug its great, but on the low pow days I think it messes up the flow or air channeling. I knew I was adding a turbo so it seemed like the right thing to do but not sure I would do it over if I was keeping her stock.
Be interesting to see if someone actually has temp readings from under the hood, with and without vents. I'm sure the vent manufactures have done some but I don't know if they would share ALL the results.

I have the holz kit which is the minimum amount of venting you would want.
I can't recommend them, as they are aluminum and the snow freezes to them blocking them off.

The kit I'm looking into is the xxxmod rod vent kit.
I've been searching around and Havnt heard anything bad about them.
Anyone else running the mod rod kit on there pro?

I plan on running the xxx mod rod kit on my new sled as well. to me they look the best and are in nice locations.

I have the WRP Wasatch Recreational Products vents. I can tell they work because snow melts very quickly once they hit the vent material. If they save one belt per year they paid for themselved 2.5 times. I think they are like 150 bucks normally, but I got them on ebay for 75 bucks. Well worth it to me. Couldn't argue with the price. The best looking vents I have seen are the 2cool vents that have the Pro RMK logo screened onto them, but they are twice the price or more.

For a stock sled I would only do the clutch side. I use the SLP 3 pcs and it seems to work well.

Has anyone seen a headlight screen cover yet?

I have Fire N Ice vents on my Dragon and plan on getting Fire N Ice vents again for my new Pro. I just don't know yet how many vents I should put on. I was thinking the front and rear vents for the side panels for sure and possibly the one that is just above the hood and behind the lights.

That's my dilemma right now , is how many?
Is to many vents a bad thing?
Or if a guy can get all the vents for a good price should he just go for it?
On a piped pro.

I'am running,Gill vents on the sides, xxxmod hood and knee vents.
the rest I made.

I have 1100 miles on my Pro this year with no vents...and still the original belt. Thinking I might switch the belt with the spare anyway....

xxx mod rods. 3 on each side.

they work great. i put the knee vents on too. no belt issues as to slipping, etc. no deep powder issues. same belt with 800 miles.:face-icon-small-coo

Good to hear they work, no powder getting in there either! I think I'm gonna get the full mod rod kit for my machine!

Those look nice. Not sure how crazy I will be about cutting the hell out of my sled as soon as I get it, though...
