Venting on a 2014 RMK Pro

Any opinions? The drive belt seems to get hot quick now that it's spring. I vented my old IQ RMK with some luck, and was hoping to do the same on my new sled. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Before I changed the gearing in my 13, I went through a belt every ~150 miles. Destroyed 3 belts before I made the upgrade. Now she runs cool as a cucumber and is way more responsive in the trees.

Not sure if you are just worried about heat or are experiencing any problems yet as a result of heat, but that was my experience.

RE: Gearing

I used Kurt's Polaris kit to gear down. Made a huge difference for my type of riding. No trail rides out here... only boondocking for us. Made my sled 10 times more responsive. Probably took off some speed, but I'm not usually trying to hit 75mph in the trees :face-icon-small-win

I agree, gearing down and clutching is the fix for generating heat (unless you have a turbo) Venting is only a Band-Aid.
