Venting and air box Q's

So from reading on here I'm gathering that venting the 1m is a good idea. I want to vent my sled to make sure she runs cooler and gets the air it needs. Should I just buy some "frog skins" and vent the sides and a few on the top of the hood?. What do you guys do with the cheapo little foam inserts that velcro to the insides of the stock hood vents, my sled has lost a couple of them?. What company sells a good vent "kit" for our sleds?. One more thing. My airbox is already gutted and I want to remove the speedo, move the TAC over and run a vent into the airbox from the hole where the TAC was. Can I do thiis mod with the stock box by just cutting a 4" hole in the top and running a 4" PVC elbow from the box up through the hole? I'd just have to cover the hole with some stuff to keep snow out and let air in right?. would there have to be changes to the carb settings due to more air flow to the motor from this Mod?. Or would I'd be better off just buying an aftermarket air box with a hole already on top?.

I have a drawing of the airbox mod if needed? But I have no idea how to post it? It is a scaled drawing that shows where to put the hole in relationship to the hood when it closes. The elbow is attached to the hood and meets on foam on the airbox lid, Like the Polaris s/u. I could fax from work if it comes out in the right size you are set!
