Vent a propane tank to the outside

Has anyone come up with a way to vent their propane tank to the outside of an enclosed trailer? I just bought a used trailer and he had a large tank mounted inside in the nose.

Ideally, I would like to move the tank outside or get an underneath mount type.

It doesn't look like I can get tanks on the tounge because the jack is too close to the vnose.

Is there a safe way to connect a ventline to the existing bottle valve and route it outside incase it needs to relieve pressure?

With a dual tank mount you only need about 9" of space between your jack and v-nose. If left inside, I've seen a few where they make a enclosure for the tank to seal I off from the main area and just drill a hole or two in the floor.

I was looking at propane mounting options when I installed my heater.
The cheapest solution was to mount it on the tongue of the jack, but like you, I didn't have enough room.
Luckily I was able to find a cheap ASME horizontal mount and mounted it underneath.
Check out ndmtnsledder's setup. Great setup! Nice way of venting and hiding it inside the trailer.

I have seen people mount them outside on the side of the V(see pic).
Or just build a box around it, and put a couple holes in there to the outside for venting. Check out Smoothlander's setup here. http://www.snowest.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2059924&postcount=9

Thanks for the additional ideas. What size tanks are you using? Are they standard 20lbs?

I also have the tounge jack crank handle in the way and it would hit the tank mounted on the driver side. It's all welded in but I may just need to cut it out, rotate the crank to the front and reweld it.

It would probably be better having two small tanks rather thn the one large one I have now anyway.

Yeah just the little BBQ ones. That way I can get them filled eaisally without having to take the traile anywhere, and take an extra one if I'm going on a long trip. It is a slight inconvience for the jack though.
