VEI Q drive belt/pulley guard

I am apprehensive about bending the driven shaft because the driven pulley gets pounded from below. Unlikey but a real buzzkill if it does.
I picked up this bash plate from VEI and installed in fifteen minutes last night. It is aluminum and nicely fabricated. The predilled holes matched precisely .All fasteners were included. My peace of mind is worth the $59.00 + s/h.
It is referred to as a belt guard for some reason.

Yep, that plate is the only way to go.

Yup I have a similar one it rivets solid on 3 sides and into the plastic on the front out side corner.Seems fairly solid and should help ,cheap insurance.
