Vector Jetting

Working on getting my vector done. Figured I would order up some jets. I think I am going to need a little bigger jet with the newer high flowing turbo and header. Wondering where a good place is to order these and what a good supply would look like. I think stock is like a 148. I have always been a ski doo guy and don't know much about the yamaha vector jetting.

Hopefully someone can get me pointed in the right direction to get some jets to get the job done without spending a fortune.

if your float bowl signal is strong enough you still might be able to get away with stock, like on the RX1's/// although like you said, jumping up to a more free flowing system you might want to go up a tad more.. whats in it for jets right now?

Jetting

I have not had the carbs apart to see what it has for jetting right now.

With the new mid mount, 3 inch downpipe gt2860r turbo and intercooler that it may need a bigger jet than the front mount with the small turbo it had before.

Also are the jets the same between the rx1 and the vector?

Here is a pic of the header, for anyone wondering what I am doing.

Jets are different, we have kehin"?" carbs. I've ran stock jetting but just went up one size after installing some custom vents and my A/R got leaner than I like.

thanks

thats what i figured that they r keihens. turboyammy, whar do you have for a turbo system? what size turbo, downpipe, front or rear mount etc.

We just finished rejetting my buddies MCX Vector. After adding an A/F guage he went from 135's to 140's. To me the 140's are a little fat for the 16T Mitsu turbo at 12lbs but not bad. You will probably be pretty close at 140 with your setup, maybe 142.5 but for sure not 148.

I am not sure what it has in it currently. I did just go check to see what I have for jets that came with it. I have a set of 140's, 145's and 150's for spares. Makes me think it may have the 148's in it now.

What would you recommend if I wanted to buy a couple more sets and how about another set or 2 of pilots.

I wouldn't buy anything till you test it, once its jetted you won't be touching them again ever so it'll just be waste of money. Shoot for A/F ratios right at 12:1 through out the throttle range.

Looks like the header will work out well. Are you going to V the joints prior to welding. Not much material for the price is it. LOL

Welding

I am not doing the welding so I don't know for sure what his plan is.

Yeah that is about $230 worth of stainless. A fair amount of money in that little guy.

I think I am going to try to get it on the dyno and have it dyno tuned. I want it to work well and know that I am making good safe hp.

I have a rear-mount Mitsu 16T and I just jetted up from 135s to 138s if I remember right. A/F was too lean with the cold air intake @ 13psi, might need more jet with the new boost controller and more psi. BTW, I only ride from 6000' and up.

i ran 138 at 12lbs on my front mount & they were fine above that you need the 142.5.:beer;
