Hello my name is chris, i just moved to the gulf islands last april from whistler/squamish/pemberton. I'm looking for information about sledding on the main island. I havent been able to find too much, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I heard there is access up at the mount washington region. I am wondering if there is alpine access? If so is it free? whats accomadations like and is there parking?

I'm also lookin for team mates. I've taken my AST courses and i have all the gear. If you like to ski/snowboard or film thats a plus. I'm gunna have alot of time off this winter soo im gunna be bummed out if i dont get up much.

I just moved to vancouver from the island, been sledding the island for the past 4 years. Yes there is access from mount washington. wraps around the back side of the mountain, some good spots for snowboarding as well as some fun meadows to sled in. Also farely good sledding/ snowboarding off of Mt Arrowsmith, (mid island). There is some alpine riding too, Mt Adrian, but you need to be a member to access. Best advice is to contact the Mid Island Snoblazers, they are the local club on the island and would be able to help you out a little more. Best of luck, and happy sledding!
