Thinking about going to a VE tunnel but I'm not sure if I should attempt doing it myself. Have any of you done it? If so how hard is it to do on the pro
Thanks in advance

I stand corrected. Money says you'll gain some weight going that direction, but as always with Mike's stuff, I'm sure it's top notch.

The tunnels are pretty straight forward to install... but will require the full dissassembly of the sled.

If your tunnel is not damaged... keep it intact with the bulkhead... Keep it or sell it...

The pieces of the bulkhead are not very expensive to buy and you could then start from scratch and not have to de-bond bulkhead parts... the bulkhead floor gets ruined when you remove it anyway.

This is exactly what i wanted to do. But the tunnel still needs the side plates where the jack shaft mounts etc. I can only find the plates attached to the entire tunnel assembly. Any help?

Tunnel

Call Mike and tell him what you're wanting to do...he's pretty good at what he does. That sled in the post is my brothers sled he went with the full tunnel to accommodate his 174 track. Somewhere on here are some pics of my sled I went with just the VE Boondocker bumper kit. It is deffinetely a top notch upgrade either way you go. Having a full width running board all the way to the back is awesome it feels like a totally different sled and there's way more places to plant your feet for technical climbs.

As long as you have the original to work off off... Making the new side plates, for Mike, would be a piece of cake... He could probably do a custom extension of the tunnel and get rid of the block-off plate in that area of the tunnel as it "rolls" around the bulkhead.

The VE tunnel would have increased cooling capacity compared to the stocker as well.

Can't be that hard since a girl did it ;) Sorry Brandy, I couldn't help myself

Ha! No offense taken!!!!

Jason... Didn't Mike do the install?? (sorry Brandy :face-icon-small-win)

Actually, Mike's son did most of it and I tried to help where I could. My job was to document and write up a "step by step". But it is easy enough that a girl could do it, completely, if she wanted too! ;)

Unless your bulkhead is damaged or your are going to a longer track I'm thinking the Boondock Bumper Kit is a pretty killer option. Get the strength, look and alot less effort to install! But there are those out there that say they can feel the difference between the kit and the full tunnel.

I remember when I ordered my tunnel and seat through Chris back in 2003. That turned out to be an experience...which was fine for me but.....I got a couple phone calls from his mother about it.

Lol
