Van Halen on Jimmy Kimmel

I am a long time fan of Van Halen and was looking forward to seeing Van Halen on Kimmel.

David Lee Roth was H O R R I B L E ! !

I was ready to buy ticket to this summers concert but that sucked and pretty much killed it for me.

I would agree It is hard to tell what it sounded like there but feed that they played on jimmy k live on you tube was bad. Sounded like he was way off key for most of "panama"

It's like he doesn't sing much but goes between talking and screaming. And when he does sing it's not with the music and way off.

I went on iTunes to listen to some samples of the live album that's being released and it wasn't much better. Could possibly be the first Van Halen Album that I don't buy????

WAtched it after reading this thread. Horrible is an understatement. It's not van Halen. It over the hill, out of tune David lee Roth performing with one hand in his pocket. Reminds me of the motley Crüe concert this year. Sucked azz.

As I read this post I thought the same thing about the Crue. 3 guys up there absolutely KILLING it while Vince Neil is sucking harder than a hooker in a Bankok brothel.

It's work safe. IF you have have any respect for Vince Neil, don't watch. If you've had the opportunity to see him live in a concert and know how bad he really is, then proceed.

thats why most people stop singing over time as they realize the gift is gone. Athletes stop playing. Gotta move on when the skill fades.

True, but only to a point.
For example, Vince Neil could still be much, much better than he is if he would simply get himself into a little better physical condition.
His lack of doing so is a show of total dis-respect towards fellow bandmates & fans.

With Roth, he could simply realize that hitting the notes on time & on key add more to the performance than his primping & prancing around like a fooktard.

One singer that still sounds great live is Klaus Meine. And to think that he almost lost his voice permanently back in the very early 80's...
