Looking on planning a trip to BC to ride.. Where is the better place? Is there places where you can ride out of your hotel or cabin? Looking for deep powder, good tree riding, and some climbing? Nice town with good food and atmosphere

thanks in advance

Revy

Revelstoke all the way. Best snow conditions on average.

The town is well equipped for sledders between accommodations, restaurants, service/repairs, rentals and overall a friendly place.

There are a few places to stay where you can sled the groomed trails directly from your hotel, Glacier House, and The Peaks as well as a couple of cabins. Check the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club's website for info.

Cheers

Beauty!! I was thinkin late Nov but you just made my day the next 30 days can't go by fast enough!

I don't want to burst your bubble but don't expect epic conditions in early November in Revelstoke. There could possibly be enough snow for some decent riding by that time but there will still be a lot of land mines under the snow. If you have a long way to travel make the trip worth your while and hold off until mid December at least. I have wrecked a sled riding early November...not fun.

x2 with what Alpine_Bound said. the earliest i've riden in Revy has been 3rd week of november.... there were still some good landmines out there... found that rock on alberta hill; 2k later, sled back together.
but going back to the theme of the thread, Revy is big enough to have everything you need when sledding, and some things you don't think about... like decent internet connection at the hotels; netflix is important to some of us!

Yep usually worth it to hold off a few weeks, kinda funny how it's easy to find someone who wants to go riding in November when the snow is real thin but try and find a buddy in May to go riding when the snow is 30 feet deep. LOL

Revy is nice riding if you can get through town with out the azzhole cops harassing you !! If your from Alberta be aware !! Make sure sleds have four point tie downs and trailers are all working 100 %. Lights, trailer break away and so on !! They look at everything with a fine tooth comb !!

I'll personally be spending my money any where but Revy !! Somewhere they actually like sledders !!

I would hope that you have working break away and your sleds tied down properly...I sled Revy almost always and have not been harassed let alone pulled over in town.
DOT had a check stop set up once close to the Rogers Pass...
I have found Revy to not only have the best snow but to be one of the most sledder friendly areas I have ever been too.
This has gotta be one of those try to scare people away so I can have the mountain to my self posts eh!:face-icon-small-con

He probably just has a big heat score brodozer.

Nope all serious here !! Every time we've been there have had troubles with check stops and getting pulled over for random checks !! My truck is a stock 1 ton GMC nothing special to make the cops want to pull us over either. Sorry to burst your bubble.

The riding is good though. Probably why we keep coming back. But there are lots of better hidden gems out there !!

I've never had a problem in revy but a hassle in valemount. Random check stops for booze, breakaway brakes, trailer lights and HID headlights on the truck. We've never had anything stolen in revy either, can't say that for valemount!

Don't mean to hijack but I like Blairmore. Easy to travel to, good amenities and what I call mall sledding. Don't like one area get back on the main trail quickly and pick another.

i personally like sicamous they seem to love sledders and let us get away with lots. ten thumbs up for the best western there they know how to let people enjoy themselves
