Vail Pass to Red Cliff.

Red Cliff is at 8500'. I wouldn't call that "low" but the road coming into Red Cliff gets a lot of sun exposure causing it to be very muddy this time of year. You could walk but it's probably a mile from the water tank into town. There has been a ton of snow in the Vail Pass area but I wouldn't plan on being able to ride into RC. Pack a lunch and ride where it is good.

8500 is WAY low for CO riding... how many other places do we ride that low in CO? The only other place where we ride that low that I can think of is Grand Lake Town trail, and that comes in late & melts out early as well.

How many towns are above 8500? I wasn't talking about riding conditions. There really isn't any riding right around RC. That's why I suggested not riding in for lunch and staying high. BTW, Rabbit Ears is only about 1000' higher at the parking area.

Good restaurant at Nova Guides also. I would guess that the railroad trail to RC from Camp Hale is still rideable.
