Vail Pass Thieves

While staying overnight at Jay's cabin last week South of Vail Pass for the holiday, I was reminded of the fact that you have to lock down all your junk at all times these days to keep it from walking off.

Some punk swiped a bag left in the back of my topper with a bunch of gear. They'll be easily recognized if their sporting any Washington State University garb. I mean, who would wear that stuff? I think they were ranked dead last in the SEC football rankings. I'll just pretend it was some Louisiana trucker who pulled over for a nature stop on the pass, and decided he'd get some warmer clothes to help the fact he was wearing flipflops and shorts and needed to chain up in the blinding snow.

But, thanks for at least not stealing my work boots!

Reminds me of a story I heard somewhere, maybe on here.

Guy would leave on a ride and come back to empty gas cans he left full in the back of his truck. After a few lessons learned he started filling them half way up with water.

Didnt take long to find the stealing phuk stranded on the side of the mountain !

Sorry to hear about that, sometime we have some real pricks

It is really too bad things like this happen. I am fortunate in the fact I normally ride from my house or I trailer up the creek about 4 miles and ride in always virgin snow, never see anyone else and the riding is as good as it gets anywhere. Very secluded and untouched. I never ever ride alone. On occasions where I do go somewhere and park where others have parked I have not had a problem yet with just leaving things in the back of my truck. Someone did steal the bull balls I had hanging on my hitch one time, but that was in California, not Colorado where I live and that is to be expected in Homo'sville.
