Utah Youth Elk Hunt help

Ok, I know this is pushing the limits here guys, but I'm going to ask anyway.

My daughter drew the youth elk hunt tag. She can hunt any general any bull area Sept 18-26 which is a really cool deal for her.

Southern Utah is out for us because she will be in school so we'll be needing to stay relatively close to the Salt Lake area. We'll probably hunt Sat/Sun/Mon the first weekend and Fri/Sat/Sun the second weekend if need be.

So I'm asking you guys for suggestions on specific areas to hunt.

I know that is asking a lot, for you guys to share your general elk area with me, but it's for a good cause, my daughter has had 3 cow elk tags and never gotten a shot and is really excited about a real bull hunt.

If you want to PM instead of generally replying that is fine or even give me a call at 801.577.6444 and we can discuss it.

Thanks,

New job is interesting. Not very challenging work, but very challenging from a personel standpoint... I'm having to mentor a couple of people who do not really care to progress/learn... that's a challenge.

Funny thing, I get paid every Friday and that is the first time I've been on a weekly pay schedule for many, many years and it is strangely motivating. It keeps me pretty engaged and motivated through the week to know I'll be getting moola on Friday.

One thing for sure about Utah hunters is they don't kiss and tell. Bunch of DB's if you ask me. My neighbor has been riding his wheeler back behind our houses and watching a bunch of elk. I didn't ask too many ?'s cuz I won't hunt there but I can find out more if that interests you. He is heading east outa bountiful/nsl. Pm me if that is something she would be interested in. I'm not sure if it's a gen area or not...

I don't begrudge anyone their secret areas. If one knows of a good general area in Utah then its understandable to keep it to himself with the way Utah is doing their elk hunting regs these days.

I'm no stranger to hard work but I wouldn't shoot an animal above Bountiful/NSL unless I had horses to get them out. That is some mean terrain to get dead weight out of.

The North Slope has some good elk hunting areas. I usually hunt at Fish Lake but it is spike only.

Good luck on your hunt! Should be a good season this year.
