Utah Rental and Guide Svc Needed

Hi. I'm a flatlander (upstate NY/Tugg Hill) headed out to Utah the week of 11 Jan for work and would like to get a couple of days riding in on the tail end of the trip. Heading to Dugway Proving Ground (SW of SLC) but would be willing to drive several hours for the opportunity to ride some off trail powder. Specifically looking for sled rental and guide service for a day or two that focuses on off trail (I get plenty of groomed trail in my neck of the woods). I'm also solo which is why I"m in need of a guide not that I would anyway. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks and love this site!

Utah Rentals

If you want on-trail rental, Daniels Summit Lodge is about 2 hours East of Dugway.

Lots of riding area right from the lodge.

***Shouldn't have any trouble rounding up some local forum peeps to have you tag along with them... ***

Alpine Powersports in Lindon Utah.
801-785-2233

they rent 2010 summit XP 154"

I don't know of any guides but I am sure there is a person or two on here that will let you tag along......

Wait, isn't Ron a Licensed guide?;)

Your not going to find any of the rental/guide companies that will take you off trail much at all, your best bet is to find a rental and get some of us locals to show you around.

Thanks everyone for the advice, this is great especially considering I just got back from riding hard, boney, bumpy trails for 60+ miles. I may have to extend my stay a couple of days to shake off the hammering I just lived through.

NewMTNsldr, I'm at Dugway for a meeting in preperation for an event we have scheduled in Apr. We're working on a airborne network that will provide the troops on the ground real time intelligence information they need to assist them in making decisions. Good stuff and for an excellent cause.

Back to sledding...I look forward to the opportunity you folks get to enjoy on regular basis. I'm incredibly envious. Again, thanks for the replies...

Hey now...that cut was a little deep...:)

HA HA! I just know how he likes to take the first crack at out of towners!! LOL!
But seriousely, call Adam, he gots your rental and if its during the week, he may take you out to some good chit up there.:beer;

I distinctly remember the Florida guys saying what a great time they were having as we were lowering those sleds! :D There is no one I would have rather had in that situation than those two! :beer;

For sure!! Great guys:beer; That's why you got my vote! You give them the WHOLE experience!!:D
So when you ridding again?

Just called Adam plus Alpine Power sports. Both options seem very doable. Alpine provides the sled (10' XP 800 Summit) and trailer but I'd still need a guide and a tow vehicle. Adam has the sleds and is looking into guide options.

Anyone interested in 1. being a guide on Friday and Saturday, or 2. draggin a newb with them? I realize some of you need $$ for repairs so I can pay for guiding or rent a sled for you....:D

Thanks for the help everyone. Hope to meet you at some point.
