Atta Boy!!!! I talked to a friend driving up I-15 from Idaho Falls to Montana, he said there is some in the Idaho Mountains too!

It is a bit too early to get excited about riding, but watched the new T-Struck movie last night and I am ready to go. The sled is not though.

Pretty rare to see it this early. I hope it's a good sign of things to come.
Just found some previous Sept. 2006 snow pics.

Drove up from St. Gorge today. Man o man does Nebo look good with snow on it. Temp & AF snow line was quite a bit lower.

yo sledhead where did you ride yesterday? had a break from the hunting this weekend so ran up to the cabin and rode over elizabeth on the grizzly. It was snowing HARD

Cool, have you ever seen snow like that this early?

i'm up on the mountains every weekend in the fall for hunting and yes this is a little early. Last year i was down on the Fishlake Elk unit on september 21 and woke up to 2" of white, that really got the elk fired up, I had 11 320+ bulls come within range that day, and that was the first snow last year. So we beat last years first white stuff by about 3 weeks. Can't wait to get out this week on the mountain. The elk were bassically mute as of late, this cold has to have them fired up!

Saturday we rode Elizabeth Ridge area. Blacks Fork, Lym Lake. We try to get pretty far back in to avoid traffic and dust. Sunday was 7 straight hours of me with a chainsaw. But well worth it for a winters worth of heat.:D Now it's nothing but playing. Going to Powell next week. I still have the dirt bike bug, so weekends Uinta's and weekdays AF.

MR - where is your cabin? We just pulled in to the house from our property in Monviso. It was snowing heavy at 9,000'+ on the ATV's, made for a sweet ride back to the truck!

haha!

Yes i already did the whole chainsaw deal. Stupid beatle kill! We went all day 1 saturday and then till noon on the next sunday with the chainsaws! and a month later they have already moved on to some heathy trees:mad: I almost wish we just left some of the half dead ones up for the beetles to finish off before they took out the good ones

I can only wish I was wealthy. We formed a partnership (myself and two others) and bought a great piece of property (23 + acres). We planned on doing our own "timeshare", then just found out that we can also have a "guest" house, so now we are going to find three more partners and build two places on the property so everyone can still have a third of the year's use. Could even just sell half if someone wanted their own place. Maybe we'll see you riding this year.

Yeah, keep in touch

We cut thru your neck of the woods for a shortcut. But I'm not saying where. We're up almost every weekend.

I was on Elizibeth hunting elk today aswell! There was three to four inches of snow at about 9,500 feet. Half of it melted by 11:00 am and then the next storm came in, it snowed until about 1 pm. You have to love the early snow especialy while hunting!

Bigrock, just wondering does Monviso have running water? We have a cabin in Uintalands and used to hunt that area years back. I have seen all of the other utilites and was curious if you had water?

Mak, where have you been hunting (maybe you don't want to tell I would'nt)? I have had to bulls that are pretty hot for this early in the year in that area. One five point at about 70 yards with no shot opportunity and one other with a killer bugle, but we had a bad set up so he winded us.

Water

We have a .45 water right with the property, so will drill a well. The ones who have drilled already have had no problem with hitting good water.:o

When is the first cabin going in? If they're drilling wells they must be getting close. Is that road going to be paved?

Anybody wondering what I mean by wealthy, here's a peak for ya:

2 places in various stages of being built right now - well, septic, footings and foundation. One guy is trying to get his place closed in before winter, then finish next year - he is starting too late IMO. No plans to pave the road unless the HOA decides that's the direction that they want to go in the future. If you know anyone that is interested in our own timeshare/partnership or wants to buy half and have their own place, have them contact me at bigrock33@comcast.net .

I'll keep my ears open. I have a brother in law that loves to invest in that kind of stuff. He just bought a cabin at Bear River Lodge. They rent it for him. Sure is a sweet area that you're in. Are they going to give you guys a key to the HWY 150 gate for SnowCat access?

I wasn't hunting this weekend, just out for fun. I guide and spot on a cwmu all fall and had the week off so went up to the cabin. I drew a Book Cliffs Late Rifle LE elk tag but i ended up turning it in cause i couldn't take that much school off so i am not elk hunting this year sadly, I do have though a unit 231 deer muzzle tag in nevada and a unit 66 3rd season deer tag in colorado, as well as a tag on our CWMU, 3 deer over 185 is my goal:confused:. My turn will soon be here:D
