I dont know exactly what the level 1 class is but i am sure i will be able to come. I havent really been to a class and would like the training. I just have been to the things they come and teach. I would defiantly attend.

Can you 2 just promise me you'll save the mouth to mouth for the real life experience. I know Kev with want to practice this technique as much as he can but I just don't want to throw up:eek: in front of everybody.

Mama always said " do what you do best!"
PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!

Besides.....with a name like "big sal" how bad can it be??!!!

Craig I say you do it up on Monte, the spot we did it in for S&R was a good spot, but it's your call, we all really appreciate your time for doing this.

OK... I'm putting something together for after the holiday madness. Maybe the 2nd weekend in January. Let me figure some logistics out and I'll get back with y'all.

I'd really like to make it to this also. I transplated here from Michigan and have zero avy knowledge at this point.

I thought I was coming up with a good idea when I emailed you this week craig. Guess I should have checked out SW first. Snow pack is pretty scary in the Uintas and I am down for some good hands on training.

lets keep this thread at the top. i have 5 or 6 that will come also. thanks. don't worry about things too much until you get in a small one and it really opens your eyes and you realize how ignorant we are sometimes

It's going to be very sketchy this winter. I fell off in the POW today and I was able to pull out sheets of ice about a foot and half under the fresh stuff I was riding in.

I need to know all I can. I don't climb like SH for the fun of it. I climb to get from A to B. Bring it on, we're ready.....

I was ridind up Gaurdsman Friday and came down a ridge no one had been on this year and a layer about 3" deep kept sheering off and sliding down the mountain in front of me.

Not a big deal, a 3" avalanche but it was an extremely weak layer and with the new snow now it would be an 18" layer and by the time this storm lets up it could easily be a 3' layer and that will be real bad!!

Be careful everybody.

And we all need to learn all we can.

bad start

Skier buried IN BOUNDS at Snowbird today. My nephew was on the probe line looking for a second victim. Hopefully just the one girl. She is at the hospital and has a pulse. Critical condition. God willing she had an air pocket or has luck on her side. I doubt it will be a happy ending. :( That terrain was just opened today. The back country will suck for a while after this big snow. be careful. :( :brokenheart:

Now there is a second burial at Desolation Lake. Sounds like the skier was dug out and is ok... The Snow Pack is dangerous!
