Using 2012 Injectors in a 2011 Cylinder

Gentlemen

I understand that it is possible to use 2012 Injectors in a 2011 Cylinder??

As you may know the hole that the injector goes in on a 2011 is a bit different then it is for a 2012...So when you do this (2012 injector in a 2011 Cylinder) do you just install the 2012 injectors as is?? Or do you swap the O rings from the 2011 injectors onto the 2012.

The 2012 uses a green isolator bushing inside the injector bore...The 2011 does not...It uses a small brown o ring (which I think is intended to serve the same purpose)

If anyone has any expertise or advice on the right way to do this I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank You

-Scott

Run the 12 injectors with the 12 o-ring isolator setups. Ran an 11 cylinder last year with the 12 injectors.
They set a little deep, but run fine.

Thank you Very Much

Just to clarify..You took 2012 injectors as they come from the factory, put the green isolotator bushing in the cyinder put the injectors in the 2011 cylinder and thats it??

You did not swap any parts from the 2011 injector to the 2012?

Please let me know if my understanding is correct

Thank you again

I didn't use any of the 2011 inj. seals. Only the 2012 seals. Be very careful with the green seal, I have seen them pushed through and block the injector.

^^^^^^^^^^^that is exactly what a dealer did to my 2012 when they rebuilt the top end (low compression)

Motor went 300 miles then grenaded from the lean condition on the mag cylinder running in three feet deep of snow on a trip to BC

To clarify-- my 2012 blowing up was caused by dealer personnel incompetence, not Polaris Industries

Murph,
That is exactly what happened to this sled in the picture.
Someone called and said you have snow today;)

Your 11 will have to be reflashed for the 12 injectors also.

So, can I just replace my 2011 injectors with 2012? Get a reflash from someone with the right equipment?

Remember reading that 2011 injectors had 4 spray holes vs. 8 for 2012. Any point in going for 2012 injectors over 2011?

Thanks.

Is it possible to use 11 injectors in a 12? Have a mid range bog. Looking to swap injectors and Ecu from 11 into 12.

I run a 12 injector in my 11, the reflash is easier said than done. Unless Polaris has changed their policy on reflashing the 11's, you need to know someone with connections.
