Use TCW3 2-stroke oil in gas?

Ok, on my 4-cycle motorcycle street bike forum this is a recommendation from a very respected member who does lots of carb rebuilds and modifications for people. Other people there also extoll the virtues of running TCW3 in their fuel.

Among the various reasons to use 2oz of TCW3 oil per 3 gallons of fuel:

- Prevents carbs from gumming up and you don't have to use Stabilizer.
- Provides additional lubrication for piston rings, etc
- Cleans carbon from engine
- Can free up sticky rings
- Gas these days is very "dry" so provides a little more lube

If it is true, it would probably benefit 2-cycles as well by mixing in a few ounces with your gas even if you have oil injection.

They are pretty specific about TCW3 too, but swear the Wal-mart stuff is perfect at $10/gallon.

Have any of you heard of doing this?

I premix 100:1 all the time, so nothing new here.

Many respected members on a powerstroke truck forum also recommend mixing that exact oil in todays diesel to help with lube and injector life.

i love that same stuff in my 7.3 ^^ injectors get way quiter. also hear a lot about running it lightly mixed in gas... never hurt!!! keeps everything lubed up and happy.

at one time there was a thread on totallyamaha.com (4 stroke side) about this. there is a site that some guys talk about premixing everything internal combustion related. i cant remember the site.

their recommendation was for 1 oz of oil for every 4-5 gallons of fuel. i have been running this mix in my 2009 gmc 1500 5.3 litre since after the first oil change.

hard to tell if it works but, it cant hurt. with the dryer fuels, it will help the pumps and injectors for sure. ski

2-stroke injectors do mix oil into fuel at the carbs/throttle bodies but this thread is about whether it is beneficial to mix in the tank to to help stabilize fuel and lubricate fuel pumps and injectors.

Any thoughts regarding TCW3 being used in place of stabilizer?
