Upgrades for 09 M8 Sno Pro

Looking to do some upgrades to make M a better sled. Nothing engine wise really but more efficiency related upgrades. Lookin' for some input from fellow 09 M8 owners.

I have, have done:

Dash vents from xxx Mod Rods
Jaws Can (saved 7#)
Removed 4 boggy wheels
removed insulation under hood

I have coming:

side vents from 2cool vents
2010 seat
frogskinz for front vents
3 NEXTECH remote reservoirs for the Fox Floats

Was wondering about the Rock Rollers and shift assist? Also any input on a clutch kit (Speedwerx?). Does it make that much of a dif in track spd on the M8?

Any other input would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

You sure have a good start!

The Rock Rollers are good but, I have read that the (ones from Canada?) are even better. Yes, the shift assist is worth doing, especially for the price.

I'd add an AMP 2" bar riser in either bare aluminum, black anodized or green.

I added a Arctic Cat handlebar bag to mine.

A Mountain Addiction gas rack might be in order?

SLP Powder Pro skis

A black front belly pan

A skid plate

2010 or Boss high rise seat

Best of luck

A few things I forgot to mention...

C&A Pro ski's
Rox 2' riser
RSI Carbon Fibre Bars

Frostbite....I am actually thinking about the Mountain Addiction rack...pretty sure I am going with it. How are the rails in the extreme cold? Think they'll be brittle? Break?

As far as the Canadian Rock rollers...dif. manufacturer??
I'll get the shift assist
How about clutch kit??

Thanks for the input so far guys.

Here are the rollers I couldn't think of last night. I plan to give them a try at some point.

http://www.hitorquerollers.com/

I just mounted my Mountain Addiction rails this past spring so I can't say how they work in the cold.

I was told to make sure to buy the plastic rails for the gas cans and NOT the aluminum because I'm told the aluminum rails have problems with snow freezing to them and it can be a pain to get the cans off the rails.

Clutch kit? Build you own by starting with some adjustable clutch weights from Culter or Dalton Industries. You can replace your primary spring based on what type of riding you do. If you want a soft engagement then the Cat gold primary spring seems to be the preferred spring. Or maybe you want more of hole shot? If so, you'll need one with a higher engagement. It depends on what you are looking for from your sled.

The Cat orange secondary spring seems to be almost universally loved so other than changing your rollers and adding the shift assist the secondary is about done. Although, you can always add a multiangle helix. I have a 42/36 because that's what SLP recommended with their pipe. Now that I have their performance edition they recommend a 44/36. Most seem to think the straight cut 36 degree helix works just fine.

If you want a shift assist don't bother buying one. I put an RKT kit on my M8 last year and have a shift assist in my parts box. Just go for a walk around the block and come get one for free.:beer;

No **** eh? Definately trade a couple pops for it. Just home sick, (Brutal cold) so if possibly shoot over in the next couple of days? Which place is yours??

Let me know where you are and what bevies you drink??

M8 Upgrades

Hey SPDFREAK, all these mods are good and help. I have done pipe, air box and that other stuff. I'm thinking turbo, at my riding elevation (10,000'+) might be best bang:face-icon-small-hap

Turbo would def. be nice but I can't justify (yet) the 6000 bucks plus for the kit. It is allready capable of things I can't do with it so a turbo would just be trouble for me. Trouble of the best kind, but trouble nonetheless. ;)

Cheers man.

Lifted white 08 Super Duty in front of the house (11308). I'm usually around in the evenings trying to get my new garage done before the snow flies. If you want to bring a couple pops great; I'm not picky.:D
