Updated cluch spring 07 800R

I brought my 07 800R primary cluch in about 8 months ago for some updates. They did the updated and told me that the Viovet/Green spring is being replaced with a Voilet/Blue spring. They replaced this spring under waranty and I have not had a chance to try it. Since then I have spoken to about 8 different dealers about this and none of them know anything about this. I am going to the Snowies in a couple weeks and I am woundering if I should just buy the Violet/Green spring since that worked good before. Any info on this would be great.

The stock Violet-green was a 160-260. I believe the violet-blue spring is a 160-290. I never heard anything about the sping being changed as part of an update but most guys (myself included) ran a stiffer primary spring than stock at higher elevations, so you should be fine, you may even like it better. Just expect to run 1 or 2 clickers lower than you were before.

Yes, there was an update to try to mask the rapid wearing primary and secondary buchings....I believe this was before the update to the bushings.
Either spring will be fine, the stiffer will probably work better for you.

I am running that spring with 412 ramps and a little stiffer spring in the secondary and 18 mil of inserts and running 3 - 4 on the clickers and it runs great in the snowies. This was BIG JOHNS clutch kit Big John is on here and also can be found under Sled Head Racing.

Thanks for the info. I feel better now knowing that when I get there I can just ride and not have to test and tune first. Thanks again!!!

Also Ozzmanmike, what advantages does that clutch setup have over the stock setup? Better back shifting? Better belt life? or...

I ask only because I have had very little problems with mine. I had a new motor at about 400 miles, and the clutch updates at about 1200 miles, and the only belt that I had go bad was the one when my clutch blew apart. (All covered under warranty thank god) My sled now has about 2300 miles and still only went through that one belt. (knock on wood) Most of my riding is boondocking and climbing, do you think that setup would be better for me than stock?
