Has anyone used the new bottom end kit from polaris for the 900's yet?? Just wondering if they've had any problems yet and how people like them. I want to get and Indydan crank but a bit too pricey.

a few people on here have had good luck with the new one..PM "Super Dave3" he runs one on his 05 900 with a TURBO with good luck..

BUT..

INDYDAN has already seen a few come in to his shop..so cant say they are perfect...

its all about your maintenace..balance your primary, vent, good warm-up..all have an equal effect on the crank issues..and how good your luck is ;)

yes INDYDANS crank is pricey.but worth it..but if you cant afford it you cant afford it..period..try the new one and see..may work out great

One thing with a crankshaft kit.... it is only as good as your cases are... if your old crank wore out your cases or they are not in spec... your new crank can have big problems too.

The new crank has a bigger PTO snout/taper. It seems to have a bit better balance to it as well.

Dave is a cut above even most Polaris mechanics that I know and a true Master-level technician. His sled has a brand new case in it in addition to the crankshaft and he knows how to assemble an engine to perfection.

IndyDan HAS this new crank with the full assembly service that will get you a fully setup bottom end, balanced primary clutch, side clearance set for the belt correclty, and the cases set up with an improved bearing arrangement for a reasonable price.

Bottom line... if the cases are out of whack... the crank could be toast in short order...

Don't forget to add up ALL the costs in your evaluation, Cases, assembly time, clutch setup etc...

Yea that sounds like a better offer but I won't be starting this project until the summer so I don't know if he will still be offering this. I asked him already and was unsure of how long he would keep this one going.

???

So are there any indications when you can sense your crankshaft is going bad?
I have all SLP motor mounts, new front motor mounts, new clutch that I ran a radial runout gauge on the outer edge of the clutch getting it within .003". The sled has 4200 miles with the orginal engine and have beening running with the same belt for three years. Maybe luck!

Cool thanks dawg. by the way how are the floats working. I rode a 07 800 assult last year with floats and was hoping my 06 900 would ride like that with floats.
Thanks Rob
