Due to the lack of snow in the Cle Elum Ranger District and the unusual warm temperatures, our partners at the USFS have made the difficult decision to open several roads. These road openings will revert back to closures for the 2014/2015 winter season when we receive sufficient snow fall.
The following groomed routes have converted back to road status and are now open to public use with wheeled vehicles. Road closed signs have been pulled.
Open Roads:
54 Stampede Pass
5480 Lost Lake Road
4826 Main Road of Kongsberger Ski Trail System
49 Kachess Road
4832 Gold Creek Frontage
35 Reecer Creek
4510 Woods N Steele (Evergreen Sno-Park)
3350 Peoh Point
Additional Points:
4822 Amabilis Mountain is closed at its junction with 4826. The USFS will continue monitoring the situation to see if we want to move the road closure up as snow continues to melt.
9701, 9737, 9738 – Jungle, Teanaway, Jack/Blue will be evaluated today.
Still Closed and being groomed:
9716 @ Blewett Pass
Salmon La Sac, Fish Lake and Cooper Lake
USFS staff will be checking all of these on 5-7 day rotations.
