For those that would like to know. I am running a twisted rg 09 HCR with a KMOD suspension, 162 PC and MDS weights. Ride in Cooke City mainly around 9000-10000ft. I am 220lbs and with tools, gear and gas prob around 270lbs.
I put the MDS weights in on the hill and compared to the twisted setup. I gained 9mph track speed on 6lbs of boost. Since I have played with a few thing and am running a polaris Black/Green spring (like the black but a little stiffer on the bottom same on the top) I have one long screw and washer in the tip. The secondary is a stock setup 36* helix, orange spring with one plastic washer and shift assist under the spring. I have it set so I can creep around if I want but it will still upshift very quick. When pulling a sidehill or long climb the backshift is instant and rpms hold within 50rpm on wot pulls crossing tracks or what ever. The clutch temps are cooler than I have dealt with on any sled (sometimes they will get a hotter if your creeping around and engage and disengage clutching a lot) all and all I am very happy with it.
After playing with these weight I can see from one turbo kit to the next you may need adjusting to a personal preference and riding style. On 10lbs it really kicks a$$. But 7lbs is a good overall setting for thick trees, sidehilling and climbing.
Steve at MDS has the weights in stock so give him a call.
