Update Avalanche Signs

This is a update to the thread "Toyin Around with an Idea" post by Zac (boondock'n).

I have been working with Craig Gordan at the Utah Avalanche center on the avalanche signs. It will cost $150 for each sign, this includes tax. The goal is to get the signs in all of the snowmobile parking lots. I have attached a picture of the sign.

In the Utah Snowmobile Assoc, there have been multiple clubs that will donate money for signs. The Utah Snowmobile Assoc. will also donate the money for a sign.

Now, I am asking for your help to donate money or if you will be willing to help put up and take down the signs.

If you have any questions please call me at (801)518-2766 ar email me at acdar767@hotmail.com

Thanks

Dean

Saw that sign at Soapstone last weekend and caught my attention for sure. Great idea.;)
Just wish there was a way to post the Danger Level for the current day.

Saw the sign on mirror lake highway just after the green gate. Made me think about where I was riding and with no pack turned around headed up to liz.

I wish we could have put the danger levels too. The problem was the liabilty issues and the man power to do this. this is mainly are reminder for everyone to be aware of the conditions.

Same here, if it's a matter of install and removal on the Bear River side, I'll get er done for sure. I'll even store them if need be.:D

We're up there all season. Dirt or Snow.:face-icon-small-ton

Just got an email back from Pam of Rocky Mountain Sledders, part of the money raised this weekend for the ava ride will go towards the signs.

This avalanche signing project is completely separate from the Avalanche Ride this weekend. If they are raisng money for signs, thats great. The more signs we get out there the better it will be.

Thanks, Bigrock33 for contacting and ordering a sign. Also, thanks to all the people who have offered to help with placeing the signs. I will be contacting you as soon as the are made.

The Ava Ride is seperate but when we heard about the signs we will specify some of the donation go towards that project. Still raising money for the UAC but suggesting that some of the money goes towards this project.

paying bills today so I will send a check towards signage. also I live closest to Soapstone gate so I am happy to remove/install/store that sign.

Saw it last weekend up there. Looks great! thanks.

Dean,

Will these signs have the beacons that beep on them like the ones at the ski resorts?

I setup solar panels and large battery's for Craig on all of the ski resort signs are we going to need them for the parking lot signs?

Bill

Thanks to all who gave money for the signs. There are 9 signs being made and I am going to talk to Craig Gordan to see which snowmobile lots they will be going in. If anyone has any inputs let me know. I am still collecting money so we can get signs in all the lots. Once again, I would like to thank Larry Wilson, Kurt and Lynn Kennedy, Chalk Creek Riders, Davis County Snow Flakes, Rocky Mountain Sledders, Wasatch Riders, and the Utah Snowmobile Assoc. for giving money.
