Ultra ?

The Ultra RMK already has Xtra-10 in the rear using rails for a 133.5" track (this is the same length as used on the two-up touring sleds of the same vintage). This is a beefy skid frame and quite heavy. One of the best things you can do to this sled without doing too much work is swap in an Xtra-Lite and install a tunnel extension for a longer track. This is not a bolt on operation as the Xtra-lite has different suspension mounting points. You'll need to move the rear mount points and it would be best to swap them for an after-market set. You'll also need to move the front mounts and drill new holes.
As far as track length goes, I wouldn't bother with anything less than a 141 or 144. Note also that a 2" lug track doesn't fit well on some sleds - I could not put one on mine without rolling the chaincase but others have reported they were able to get it to fit by grinding down the motor mount bolts. A 1-3/4" lug track does fit without either a chaincase roll or grinding but it's a very close fit.

I agree with Dan, I had an ultra and it does have the x10 under it. A 2" track will fit just fine under it however if you change to 8 tooth drivers rather than the 9's that are stock on it. I will 2nd changing out the skid for a extra-lite from a newer sled. I would reccomend a 151 for an all around sled if you ride deep powder all. That and get the best shocks you can afford. Of course, tripple pipes are mandatory on this sled as it is entirely different aminal with them. It is night and day.

Yep, the 8" drivers will allow a 2" on any sled but I don't recommend it. I tried this first and the resulting approach angle was so bad without a major suspension set-back that I abandoned it immediately. There is also some efficiency loss due to the track having to bend around the smaller diameter drivers. Indeed it's a cheaper and simpler alternative to a chain-case roll, and if it's all one can afford to do then so be it.
