The Navy Seals boarded with the equipement to do the job.:beer;

And a good job they did!!

The seals did an excellent job, but they only shot from 25 to 30 yards, so I'm sure they used their regular m4's.

The guy in the pic is just a standard sailor, his uniform is the standard navy coverall and standard ship flak jacket, so I'm very jealous if some ships have those rifles now, and wondering if anyone knows.

If rifles aboard were so useful in the resolution of this situation, they should carry them more often.

I don't think they are "standard issue" on Navy ships, but maybe a couple per ship wouldn't hurt. Well, it wouldn't hurt us.....:cool:

If it was only 30-35 yds. the .50 just might tend to overpenetrate, maybe just a tad on humans!!

I'd say that picture was taken on a LHA type, gator freighter.

Marines probably let the sailor take a few shots for a favor. But, they do have shoulder launched stingers on board. And, the 30mm chain was cool.

Unless the round was specifically designed for personnel it would probably just poke a
1\2 hole in you and a dozen or so of your best friends.

Not exactly. It should have happened 4 days sooner and at the very least they should have turned that boat into a sponge when the captain jumped out. Why didnt they? bureaucratic garbage....

The Navy had to make contact with the Whitehouse 17 times before the ok was given to take the perps out :confused:

Snipers don't use .50cal rifles for 25 yard shots.

It's like flying an F-14 down to the grocery store to get milk. LOL
