Type of Oil and Turbo's

Ive been using Amsoil 0/40 Synthetic with my Turbo, when I start my sled im blowing clouds of oil, sometimes it fills the parking lot at the staging area with smoke and oil shoots out of my muffler all over the place. While riding when Idleing it blows a bit of oil once in a while. When you let in cool down a bit it blows more oil. I drained this oil and put Yamilube in the tank, it still burned oil as well, but I never did a full oil with the filter and all. I go through 1/2 L of oil every day. This can get frustrating at times and I was just wondering if anyone else was using Amsoil synthetic and if this would be getting by the bearings in the turbo. The charge tube and the bottom of the intercooler is lined with oil and the blow off valve which is at the bottom of the intercooler as well blows oil all over my bottom of my front nose cone. Would the oil be the cause of this?

When the oil is cold I dont think the return pump on the Pl kits can pull the oil away fast enough and it leaks through the turbo seals. I have 40 weight in mine and it does spit a bit of oil until it warms up. it will cause oil in your intercooler as well that will come out your blow off.

Switch to the thinner oil, make sure your return line isn't pinched, and check that the return pump is pulling properly. Once you have a pile of oil in your exhaust and intake system you pretty much have to take everything apart and clean it.

A thinner oil, huh? it will make it blow more, right? They told me to stick with regular oil. There is no kinks in the hoses as we checked this over, we also changed the oil return pump. This is not just a little bit of oil being burnt, it was worse than a two stroke when starting and leaves a cloud behind. Once this is very warm, (about 5 min) it clears up. My sled and my gear are all covered in a oil film, my front of my engine compartment is soaked with oil. The intercooler has 1/4" oil in the intercooler base. I qill be taking this to Dave in Sicamous and they are #1 in customer service and hopefully this will get fixed for next season.

one more thing make sure you change your oil (max every 1000 km) with the turbo the oil gets dirty faster. If you don't it will start burning oil

Something else def. wrong.

I have ran amsoil 0-40 for 3 seasons and it works fine. No smoke, no oil loss. Sounds like a return pump, oil feed problem, or turbo seal issue.
